Hello, and welcome to my blog.

A little bit about me:

I grew up in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, from Marysville all the way down to Tacoma.  After graduating from high school I spent the next several years working as a bookkeeping assistant for a variety of companies.  As I had always been a nerd and avid book reader I spent a lot of my free time at the various public libraries in Pierce County. This all changed almost 10 years ago when I found myself at a crossroads in my life; I had to decide if I was going to continue on in a career field that I found uninspiring, or if I was going to change the course of my life.  I chose the change and enrolled myself in college and haven’t looked back (much) yet.

I find it amusing that I ended up in library science.  Amusing because I think I should have figured this out a long time ago.

Some of my interests:

I am fascinated with primary sources which I attribute to my undergraduate degree in history.  Tracing the various branches of my family tree is something I have enjoyed in the past and something that I will continue to pursue.  I enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction novels and am an unabashed Dr. Who fan.  For fun outside of books or the internet I like to go on road trips to visit state and national parks as well as any historical site I might stumble upon.  Museums, bookstores, and coffee shops are also on my list of likes.  I won’t even get started on coffee.  That would take up too many more paragraphs.

Thanks for stopping by.

  2. I know that Doctor Who is popular, but it still excites me when other people talk about it. It’s definitely one of my favorite shows. Thanks again for commenting on my blog!
